Dr. Sami Pelkonen

Dr. Sami Pelkonen is an experienced executive in the chemical engineering sector, currently serving as the Executive Vice President of Green Hydrogen at ANDRITZ since January 2023, where responsibilities include establishing a new business area encompassing the entire value chain. Prior to this role, Dr. Pelkonen held various leadership positions at thyssenkrupp from 2014 to 2022, including Chief Executive Officer of the Business Unit thyssenkrupp Uhde, where oversight was given to the engineering, procurement, construction, and service of over 2,500 chemical plants. Additional roles included Chief Executive Officer of the Business Unit Electrolysis and Polymers and Chief Executive Officer of thyssenkrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers GmbH, with significant P&L responsibilities across these positions.
