Quang Do has a diverse and extensive work experience. Quang is currently the Director of Engineering at Anduin Transactions since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Engineering Lead at Anduin Transactions from November 2015 to June 2022. Quang also worked at Facebook as a Research Scientist from July 2012 to October 2015, focusing on maintaining and improving the quality of entities and connections on the Facebook graph using natural language processing and machine learning.
Before joining Facebook, Quang worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2007 to August 2012. Their research there involved developing Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning methods to enhance access to unstructured information on the internet, with the goal of overcoming information overload.
Quang also had professional experience at other companies. Quang worked as an Intern at Facebook in 2010, where they contributed to the development of a system for interest-based targeting suggestion. Quang also worked with large-scale distributed databases using Hadoop and Hive. Prior to that, they were a Research Scientist at the Cline Center for Democracy in 2009, where they developed an event annotation tool and constructed an event recognizer for political articles.
In 2008, Quang co-founded Athena Advertising Solutions, Inc., a company that provided online advertising services and leveraged Amazon EC2 and S3 for large-scale algorithms. Quang also worked as an Intern at Yahoo! in 2007, where they applied NLP techniques to recommend similar questions from Yahoo! Answers. Additionally, they gained experience as an Intern at Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. in 2006, where they extracted knowledge for Honda's ASIMO humanoid robot.
Before their industry roles, Quang worked as a Lecturer at VNUHCM - University of Science from September 2003 to August 2005. Quang also served as a Senior Research Scientist at the Vietnam Computational Linguistics Group from 2002 to 2005.
Quang Do began their education in 1999 at VNUHCM - University of Science, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Technology in 2003. Later on, from 2005 to 2012, they attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science.
