Karolina Villarraga

Karolina Villarraga has a diverse work experience in the field of design and animation. Karolina began their career as a 2D animation compositing and color artist at Plastilina Creativa in 2000, where they also worked as an assistant and still photographer for stop motion animation. Karolina then gained experience as an art director and partner at jaguar taller digital s.a., where they worked on various projects including character design and concept art for the animated documentary "Pequeñas Voces" and production and scriptwriting for Sesame Street NY. Karolina also worked as a graphics coordinator at Caracol Television in 2008 and completed an animation internship at Boolab in 2009.

In 2010, Karolina worked on animation and 3D character development at ElIndio Films before joining HIERROanimación in 2011. At HIERROanimación, they co-directed the TV series "Migrópolis" and served as the art director and documentary maker for a production of 15 animated episodes. The first season of the series premiered in 2012 on Señalcolombia, Colombian public television.

Karolina then worked as a freelance visual artist and motion designer, taking on various projects until 2023. In 2023, they joined the company Andy as a UX/UI Designer & Front-end Developer Jr. Karolina brings a wealth of experience and expertise in design and animation to their roles.

Karolina Villarraga's education history begins in 2000 when they enrolled at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Karolina completed their Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2005. In 2007, Karolina attended the School of Visual Arts for a Continuing Education Course on Lighting for the Magazine Photographer. Moving forward, in 2009, they joined the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and pursued a Master's degree in Computer Animation, which they completed in 2011. Most recently, in 2022, Karolina enrolled at Factoria F5 - Google.org for a program in Full Stack Web Development, where they studied JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, CSS, ReactJS, ReactContext API, and PHP. This program lasted until 2023.
