Fabio Jose Benez Secanho is a Senior Manager of Remote Sensing and GIS at Anew, leading initiatives in forest-type stratification, spatial data collection, mapping, and geospatial information communication since January 2021. Prior to this role, Fabio served as a Manager of Remote Sensing and GIS during the merger of Element Markets and Bluesource into Anew, focusing on similar responsibilities. Fabio earned a Ph.D. in Forestry and Natural Resources from The University of Georgia, conducting research on ecosystem services within the Upper Chattahoochee Watershed. Experience also includes volunteering with Conservation International to support national carbon taxation policies, conducting field research as a Research Scholar at Oklahoma State University, and holding supervisorial roles at Centroflora Group, where management of agricultural and forested lands was emphasized. Fabio’s education includes a Master of Science in Forest Economics and Management from Mississippi State University and a degree in Forest Engineering from Universidade Estadual Paulista.
