Senior Director, Origination Of Technical Climate Solutions at Anew

Kelsey Locke has experience in environmental law, carbon solutions, and climate change initiatives. Kelsey has worked as a Senior Director of Origination of Technical Climate Solutions at Anew since September 2021, where they lead efforts in developing emission reduction projects. Prior to that, they were the Director and later Manager of the Methane Program at Anew, overseeing the technical aspects and project development in the methane emissions space. Kelsey was also a Carbon Solutions Analyst at Anew, responsible for project development, management, and government engagement on greenhouse gas (GHG) policy and regulations. Before joining Anew, Kelsey worked as a Research Assistant at the Canadian Institute of Resources Law, where they focused on various environmental law projects, including methane regulation and abatement opportunities in Alberta. Kelsey also has experience as an Environmental Consultant at Salix Resource Management Ltd.

Kelsey Locke started their education at The University of Lethbridge from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours degree in Environmental Science. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree at the University of Waterloo from 2015 to 2016, focusing on Climate Change. Alongside their formal education, Kelsey also obtained additional certifications. In September 2014, they completed Safety Leadership Training with Apache. In the same year, they achieved certifications in First Aid and CPR, as well as H2S Alive. Additionally, Kelsey received training in ISO 14064-2: GHG Project Quantification, Monitoring & Reporting, through the Canadian Standards Association.
