Alison Polton-Simon has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries.
Alison began their career as a Computer Engineering Intern at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in 2013. Later that year, they also served as a Teaching Assistant at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.
In 2014, Alison joined ThoughtWorks as a Senior Software Developer, where they worked until 2017. During their time there, they gained valuable experience in software development.
Following their role at ThoughtWorks, they joined Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences in 2012. Here, they held the positions of Rockefeller Leadership Fellow and Charter Member of Dartmouth Roots, contributing to public policy and leadership initiatives.
Alison's passion for humanitarian projects led their to become the President of Dartmouth Humanitarian Engineering from 2010 to 2014. Alison actively contributed to the organization's goals and projects.
In 2011, they also became a War and Peace Fellow at Dickey Center for International Understanding, furthering their knowledge and understanding of global conflicts.
In more recent years, Alison has worked with Project N95 as a Supplier Vetting Lead, ensuring the quality and safety of medical supplies during COVID-19.
Currently, Alison is at Angaza, where they have held multiple roles since 2018, including Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and currently serving as Engineering Manager. Alison'scontributions have greatly impacted the company's engineering team.
Alison Polton-Simon attended Hunter College High School from 2006 to 2010. Alison completed their Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Engineering and Public Policy and a minor in Computer Science at Dartmouth College from 2010 to 2014.
