Philip Tom

Philip Tom is an experienced executive currently serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Avertix Medical, a pioneering medical device company known for its FDA-approved Class III implantable device that detects silent and atypical symptomatic heart attacks in real-time. Prior to joining Avertix Medical in 2023, Philip held the position of Principal at Explorer Acquisitions from 2020 to 2023, focusing on serial SPAC sponsorship. Philip also served as CFO of Hudson MX from 2018 to 2020 and was part of the investment team at Insight Venture Partners from 2014 to 2018, specializing in buyouts and recapitalizations within the software industry. Philip began the career in investment banking as an Associate at Credit Suisse from 2012 to 2014. Educational background includes a BA in English Literature from Stanford University, supplemented by earlier studies at Trinity School and The Buckley School in New York City.
