MD, Institutional Business Development at Angel Oak Capital Advisors

Bernard is a Director of Institutional Business Development, serving the investment, portfolio management, and capital markets needs of institutional clients. His responsibilities include building long-term relationships with institutional investors and delivering investment capabilities across the Angel Oak investment platform. He has depth of experience in asset management, alternative investments, capital raising and corporate development.

Bernard previously served as an Associate Director, Institutional Client Advisor, and has worked in Angel Oak’s Consulting Group, assisting financial institutions with portfolio management, balance sheet risk and restructuring. Bernard started at Angel Oak as an AVP, Regional Director of the Northeastern Region, leading capital raising efforts and portfolio modeling for institutions and intermediaries.

Prior to Angel Oak, Bernard served as an investment advisor at Nicholas Hoffman and Company, a multi-family office. He assisted in development of the private market platform and advised family offices and institutions on investment strategy and wealth structuring. Bernard began his career at Morgan Stanley, delivering bespoke investment strategies for family offices and endowments.

Bernard holds a B.A. degree in Economics with a minor in International Finance from Emory University and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charterholder.
