Angels of Assisi
We provide reduced-cost medical care to animals with an emphasis on spaying/neutering to prevent overpopulation. We provide shelter, care, & sustenance to animals in need. Our adoption center is open seven days a week to help connect people with the right pet. We believe that pets enhance the lives of all people, and we are deeply invested in community outreach. Our Pets for Life program provides ongoing neighborhood outreach and offers free or very low-cost services, including humane education, spay/neuter surgeries, and wellness care. We strive to keep people with their pets whenever possible. Our Guardian Angel program provides services and support to individuals and families dealing with domestic violence, hospice, and/or homelessness. We provide outreach to local assisted living facilities and partner with Pets for Patriots. Angels of Assisi seeks to change the traditional definition of an animal shelter by offering services and programs to benefit the community, the people that live there, and the pets they love. We operate the largest private animal shelter in the Roanoke Valley, as well as a low-cost Community Pet Clinic and farm animal sanctuary.
