Kapil Gupta

Kapil Gupta has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Kapil is currently working as the Senior Vice President of Data Science and Machine Learning at Angi, a home services marketplace focused on connecting homeowners with service professionals. Prior to this, Kapil served as an Advisor on the Executive Council at Y Combinator, where they provided guidance to start-ups on building data science and machine learning capabilities. Kapil also has experience as a Guest Lecturer at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Kapil has a strong background in data science and has held several leadership positions at Airbnb. During their time at Airbnb, they served as the Head of Data Science for Trust, Experiences, and Payments, where they played a key role in developing and executing data-driven product strategies. Kapil led teams of data scientists and was responsible for the growth and recruitment of the data science department.

Prior to their roles at Airbnb, Kapil worked at PayPal as the Manager of Growth Analytics & Experimentation. Kapil also has experience in strategic value advisory at Duff & Phelps and as a research assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology.

Kapil Gupta pursued their education starting from 1998 to 2002 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they obtained a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering. Kapil then continued their studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2005 and achieved an M.S. degree in Operations Research. Kapil Gupta further pursued higher education at the same institution and completed their Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from 2002 to 2008.
