Shunmay is a paediatrician, professor and researcher, specialising in infectious disease, global health, and the diagnosis and management of acute febrile illness in children. After years of working in Cambodia leading operational research related to malaria and access to treatment, Shunmay joined AHC’s Board of Directors in 2016 to contribute to the organisation’s ongoing development. Her interest in community-based healthcare principles, then and now, directly align with AHC’s strategic priorities.
Shunmay is also a Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and is on the senior leadership team of the Center for Maternal, Adolescent, Reproductive and Child Health. She also works as an honorary consultant in paediatric infectious disease at St Mary’s Imperial College Hospital, London.
