Ben Yang

Ben Yang, PhD, is a seasoned professional in the field of mining engineering with extensive experience in technical services and geotechnical engineering. Currently serving as Technical Services Superintendent at Anglo American since July 2019, Ben has contributed significantly to underground longwall operations at the Aquila site. Prior to this role, Ben held various positions at the same company, including Geotechnical Engineer and Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, engaging in projects across multiple coal mining operations. Academic credentials include a PhD focused on fibre-optic sensing for slope stability monitoring from The University of Queensland, complemented by a Master of Philosophy and Bachelor of Engineering from the same institution.
