Martin Roberts

Martin Roberts has extensive experience in the mining and geology sectors, having held various leadership roles at prominent companies. At Anglo American from March 2017 to October 2020, Martin served as Regional Head of Discovery for Africa, Europe, and Australasia, as well as Lead for Discovery Portfolio Management and Principal for Strategy and Techno-Economic Assessment. Prior to this, Martin worked at Debswana as Group Geology Specialist from November 2011 to February 2017 and held multiple management positions in Exploration Geology at De Beers from January 1998 to January 2008. Martin obtained a PhD in Volcanology and Igneous Petrology with a focus on the East African Rift from the University of Cambridge and completed the Scenarios Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in January 2018.
