Rohan McGowan-Jackson is an experienced professional in environmental management and safety leadership, currently serving as the Head of Contractor Safety Management, Head of Operational Leadership Excellence, and Head of Environment at Anglo American since April 2016. In this role, responsibilities include overseeing the Global Environmental function, focusing on air quality, biodiversity, carbon management, and waste. Rohan successfully rebuilt Anglo American's technical environmental capacity and updated the group's environmental strategy and targets. Prior to this, Rohan held various leadership positions at Rio Tinto from 2001 to 2015, including Vice President of Capital and Communities and Vice President of Sustainable Development, actively contributing to senior leadership and executive committees. Rohan holds an M.B.A. from the University of Utah and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from The University of Queensland, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Adelaide.
