Ruben Fernandes

Ruben Fernandes is the current CEO of Base Metals at Anglo American. Ruben has previously served as the Diretor de Mineração for Votorantim Metais and as the COO, Operações e Marketing for Vale. Ruben also has experience as a Superintendente for Villares Metals. Fernandes has a long history of experience in the mining and metals industry, spanning over 20 years. Ruben has expertise in operations, marketing, and business analysis.

Ruben Fernandes has a degree in metallurgical engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Ruben also has an MBA in business from Universidade de São Paulo and another MBA in strategy from Ibmec. In addition, they have a certification from INSEAD Executive Education in International Director Programme.

They are on a team with Bruce Cleaver - CEO of De Beers, Natascha Viljoen - CEO, Anglo American Platinum Ltd, and Richard Price - General Counsel & Secretary. Their manager is Mark Cutifani, CEO.
