Albert van Niekerk

Albert Van Niekerk is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the mining and engineering sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at AngloGold Ashanti since February 2020, Albert oversees Production and Maintenance related to Crushing, Screening, and Mineral Sizers. Additionally, since November 2012, Albert has held the role of Senior Project Manager - Implementation, focusing on infrastructure development and the Owner Mining Concept. Previous positions include Chief Engineer Process Plant Engineering and Unit Manager for Heavy Mining Equipment at Gold Fields Ghana Limited, as well as a Reliability Superintendent at Barrick Gold Corporation. Early career experience at Total South Africa involved senior tribological responsibilities and project management for mining depots. Albert’s educational background includes a Grade 12 in Mechanical Engineering from Brits Landbou Skool, complemented by foundational education at Steenbokpan Primary School.
