Marius Roux has a diverse and extensive work experience in various industries. Marius started their career at Eskom as an Assistant Engineer before moving on to become a System Engineer. Marius then worked for Iscor Mining as an Engineer in training and later as an Engineer in Mining Equipment. At Kumba, they took on roles as a Maintenance Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer. Marius then joined Anglo Coal as a Pit Engineer before transitioning to AngloGold Ashanti as a Senior Commodity Manager and later as a Heavy Mining Equipment Engineer. Marius then joined Gold Fields Ltd. where they served as an Engineering Manager, Project Manager, and Manager of Business Improvement. Their most recent positions have been at AngloGold Ashanti as a Vice President, overseeing Business Improvement and Technology.

Marius Roux has a strong education background. Marius obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Management from Stellenbosch University in 2006. Before that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Management with Honours (Hons BB&A) from the same university in 2003. Prior to their business studies, Marius studied Vehicle Engineering, earning an Honours degree in B.Ing from the University of Pretoria in 1997. Marius also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, which they completed in 1995. In addition to their academic achievements, Marius has obtained certifications in their field, including the GCC for Mines & Works (Mechanical) from DME and the Professional Engineer (Mechanical) from the Engineering Council of South Africa.
