Animal Defense League of Texas
Founded in 1934, Animal Defense League is a nonprofit animal welfare agency serving the greater San Antonio area. Services include an animal shelter, adoption center, and veterinary hospital. ADL provides food, shelter, and medical care to stray and abandoned dogs and cats for the purpose of finding them permanent homes in a timely fashion. ADL also partners with San Antonio Animal Care Services, transferring animals from their facility to our 12.5-acre campus northeast of the city. Animal Defense League is a no-kill organization, and does not euthanize animals for reasons of space. ADL found homes for more than 5,000 animals in 2015.
