Ankara Press is a Black-led commercial publishing imprint dedicated to telling bold, vibrant stories that centre hope, community and connection. We publish fiction and non-fiction that reflects the richness of Black life, celebrates joy as much as it explores complexity, and that connect readers to characters and experiences that feel both familiar and fresh.

Our books span romance, women’s fiction, thriller, horror, lifestyle, memoir, and more, always prioritising accessible, high-quality narratives that invite readers into worlds where Black characters love, thrive, dream and grow.

We are passionate about building a global audience for commercial Black writing that’s playful, daring, and emotionally resonant. Whether we’re introducing readers to a breezy love story, an uplifting memoir, or a sharp take on modern life, we are driven by a commitment to publish books that feel good without being shallow. Ankara Press is where new voices are welcomed, familiar ones are reimagined, and every book is an invitation to see the beauty and brilliance of Black existence.
