Ankur Pratishthan, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of orphans, children who are victims of abuse, and children who grow up in institutions without parental care. Our work started in 2009 in Mumbai, and now spans across 6 cities in Western Maharashtra.

In India, lakhs of children grow up in institutional care due to loss of parental support, abandonment, or family breakdown. Children in institutional care often face challenges that go beyond access to basic necessities, including emotional isolation, limited exposure, and uneven developmental support. Ankur Pratishthan works alongside Child Care Institutions to bridge these gaps and ensure that children receive consistent, meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our approach centers on holistic child development, combining educational support, life skills, emotional well-being, and social integration. We believe that strengthening care systems is essential to creating lasting change for children without parental care.

With 16 years of experience and partnerships across 12 Centres, Ankur Pratishthan has supported 1200+ children through structured, need-based interventions. Our work is rooted in collaboration, long-term engagement, and a deep understanding of institutional care realities in India. We remain committed to building safer, stronger childhoods and enabling children in care to transition into confident, capable adults.
