Louise McCarthy has a diverse work experience in the field of user experience (UX) and service design. Louise currently works as a UX Lead at ANNA Money since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Fjord starting from May 2017, where they held the position of Interaction & Service Design Lead. In this role, they managed a team of UX designers and led multiple scrum teams in building digital services to assist customers in "doing it themselves." Louise also served as the Design System Lead, ensuring consistency across design and development outputs. Louise was involved in various projects, such as working with the UK Border Force to improve the experience of entering the country by air and overseeing the design and iteration of Boots' digital repeat prescription service. Louise also played a key role at NHS Digital, leading a large team in developing tools and solutions for a unified vision and providing important inputs for the national COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Prior to their time at Fjord, Louise worked at DigitasLBi as the Lead Experience Architect and at Draft FCB as a User Experience Architect. Louise began their career at Blue Barracuda, initially as a Junior Planner and later as an Information Architect. Overall, Louise McCarthy has gained extensive experience in UX, service design, and team management throughout their career.
Louise McCarthy began their education at Munich International School from 1996 to 1999, where they completed their Pre-GCSE studies. Louise then attended the British School of Paris from 1999 to 2002, where they obtained their GCSEs with a focus on 10 different subjects. Following this, from 2002 to 2004, they attended Sexey's School and achieved their A-Levels in Media Studies, German, and Design Technology. Finally, they enrolled at the University of Lincoln from 2004 to 2008 and obtained their Bachelor's degree with Honors in Advertising and PR.
