Dr. Maik D. Reder

Dr. Maik D. Reder has a wide range of work experience, beginning in 2012 when they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Schmitt Elevadores LDA. In 2013, they worked as an Event Guide at BITOU GmbH and as a Visiting Student Researcher for their Master's Thesis at Instituto Superior Técnico. The following year, they worked as a Student Worker at Daimler AG. In 2015, they began their research career as a Researcher - PhD Fellow at Fundación CIRCE, working on Advanced Wind Energy Systems Operation and Maintenance Expertise (AWESOME) under the Horizon2020 framework program. In 2017, they became a PhD Researcher at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. During the same year, they were also a Visiting PhD Researcher at Enel, developing data-driven failure detection methods and automated condition monitoring techniques for wind turbines. Since 2019, they have worked as a Data Scientist for both EDP and as a Freelancer, and is also the Founder & CEO of ANNEA.

Dr. Maik D. Reder completed their high school education at the Johannes Kepler Gymnasium Reutlingen in 2006, earning an Abitur. In 2007, they began studying Mechanical Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and earned their Vordiplom in 2010. Dr. Maik D. then attended the Technical University of Munich from 2010 to 2014, earning a Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) equiv. to MSc. In 2011, they also attended the Instituto Superior Técnico for Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. In 2015, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Artificial Intelligence for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency from the Universidad de Zaragoza. In 2017, they also earned their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Wind Turbine Reliability Modelling and Condition Monitoring from the DTU - Technical University of Denmark. In 2003, they earned an Honorary High School Diploma from Cumby High School in Cumby, Texas, USA. In 2014, they earned a Certificate Portuguese C1 - DAPLE from the Centro de Avaliação do Português Língua Estrangeira. Additionally, they have earned various certifications from IBM, including an IBM Certified - Advanced Data Science Specialist, Advanced Data Science Capstone, Advanced Machine Learning and Signal Processing, Applied AI with DeepLearning, and Fundamentals of Scalable Data Science.
