Mauro Basano

Mauro Basano has a long and diverse work experience, with their most recent position being the VP Sales Middle East - Service Division at Ansaldo Energia since March 2019. In this role, they lead the sales team in the Middle East, manages relationships with partners and distributors, and monitors sales results.

Before that, Mauro worked as the Manager Foreign branches and Key Account for MENA at EthosEnergy jv TurboCare (Siemens) - Wood Group from May 2014 to February 2019. mauro also held the position of Manager foreign branches at TurboCare (Siemens Group) from February 2003 to May 2014, where they served as the Branch Manager in Syria and UAE, as well as the VP sales for several MENA countries.

Earlier in their career, Mauro was the Branch Manager Syria at FiatAvio / FiatEngineering from October 2000 to January 2003 and the Area Commercial Manager GCC at Belleli Energy Abu Dhabi from February 1999 to September 2000.

Mauro's work experience also includes being the Project Manager Representative in Syria at FiatAvio Syrian Branch from 1993 to 1999, where they managed turn-key contracts for power station construction. Prior to that, they worked at FiatAvio as part of the Gas Turbine Division - foreign projects, where they negotiated large BOO projects and framework agreements for gas turbines with foreign governments and private companies.

Overall, Mauro Basano has extensive experience in sales management, key account management, and branch management across multiple industries and regions, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa.

Mauro Basano has an extensive education history. mauro completed their Baccalaureate at Ecole Europeenne de Bruxelles from 1970 to 1983. Later, from 1983 to 1990, they pursued an MSc in Engineering (Electronic) at Politecnico di Torino. In terms of additional training, Mauro participated in a Centrifugal Compressors training program at Siemens in Hengelo, NL in 2010. mauro also attended general management training sessions at SDA Bocconi in 2011.
