Janet began their career at a law firm in New York, where they worked on mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and tax law. Janet then transitioned to in-house counsel at a major tech company, overseeing regulatory compliance, product review, and corporate governance. In 2010, they joined HERE as Vice President, Legal and IP. In this role, they were responsible for all legal aspects of the company, including risk management, litigation management, and compliance with regulations. Janet also oversaw the company's patent strategy and acted as corporate secretary to the supervisory board of the Dutch parent company.

In 2017, Janet joined ANSYS as VP, General Counsel & Secretary. In this role, they are responsible for all legal aspects of the company, including risk management, litigation management, and compliance with regulations. Janet also oversees the company's patent strategy.

Janet Lee completed a BA in Economics and Russian Studies at the University of Michigan, followed by an MA in Russian Studies at Harvard University. Janet then went on to complete a JD at Stanford Law School.
