Tim Caulfield is a results-oriented, global business executive who thrives in challenging situations where a growth driver and turnaround architect is needed.

For the last 20 years, he has been deeply involved in the field of information technology for companies providing enterprise-class data center services (cloud and colocation) and managed services.

Tim has led organizations through periods of challenge and change while growing revenue, retaining talented employees and expanding technical capabilities –ensuring customers receive top-notch, reliable service and support that meets their business and operational needs.

As an entrepreneurial-minded executive, Tim recognizes the importance of unleashing innovation to maximize return on technology investments. He is also an expert in planning and implementing best practice solutions for companies of all sizes (start-up to mid-market and Fortune 500).

Most recently, as CEO of American Internet Services, he balanced cost-effective achievement of aggressive business goals with raising $89M of senior secured debt to position the company as a enterprise-class Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider with the ability to grow beyond colocation markets.

In leadership roles with industry giants Savvis, Cable & Wireless, and Exodus, he managed hosting businesses as large as $470M in revenue and was a key player in globalizing the web-hosting business as a sophisticated enterprise-level IT solutions provider.

Tim also served as a Founder and Director of Capto Consulting, Inc., a management consulting firm focused on IT outsourcing and technology transformation. As a thought leader in the hosting industry, he served as Capto’s chief expert for this market, advising clients on the market landscape and leading consulting engagements for global clients seeking to launch, expand, and improve their hosting businesses.

In 2012, he was named Most Admired CEO (Small, Privately Owned Companies) by the San Diego Business Journal and one of the Most Influential People in San Diego by the San Diego Daily Transcript. An active community member, he serves on numerous boards, including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Board of Trustees (San Diego and Hawaii Chapter), Quantitative Securities Research, Inc., BioCom, and CyberHive San Diego.

Tim holds an MBA from the University of Oregon and a BA from Clark University in Worcester, MA.
