Sumaiya Shaikh is an experienced professional with a background in civil engineering and program quality management. Currently serving as an Associate in Program Quality Management at Antarang Foundation since July 2023, Sumaiya previously completed a fellowship with the Gandhi Fellowship at Kaivalya Education Foundation and Piramal Foundation from July 2021 to June 2023. Prior roles include an AICTE-TULIP internship focused on quantity estimation, tendering, and site supervision at SOLAPUR CITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD. in 2021, and a Technician Supervisor position at Contract Basics-BPCL from December 2019 to November 2020. Additionally, Sumaiya gained experience as a Graduate Apprentice Trainee at NTPC Limited, where responsibilities included quantity estimation, billing, and design. Antarang Foundation is a 10-year-old organization that enables access to aspirational careers for adolescents in order to smoothen their transition from education to employment. Antarang envisions a world where every young person is passionately, productively and positively engaged in a career of their choice. Over the years, Antarang has impacted 1,85,000+ students from socially and economically vulnerable backgrounds through its core programs - CareerAware and CareeReady. 82% of Antarang graduates are productively engaged in education, employment or training. Antarang focuses towards a systemic education-to-employment transition by advocating government and industries to build an employability ecosystem. The Antarang 2.0 model aims to bridge this gap between learning and livelihoods by leveraging its PHYGITAL Model ( Physical and Digital). Our Phygital model will work with young adults at different touchpoints to enable informed decision-making at each stage.
