Maria Fernando

Maria Fernando is an experienced Wind Farm Project Engineer currently employed at Antarctica New Zealand since June 2021. With a robust background in electrical engineering, Maria has held various roles including Electrical Engineer and Assistant Electrical Engineer at Mitton Electronet Ltd from September 2016 to June 2021, where design and distribution engineering skills were developed. Maria's expertise is further demonstrated through a secondment as Electrical Site Engineer at Meridian Energy, overseeing critical infrastructure upgrades, and a position as Substation Design Engineer at The Lines Company Ltd. Earlier experience includes contributions as a Graduate Electrical Engineer at EA Networks and internships at Dow AgroSciences and Powerco, which provided a solid foundation in electrical network management and infrastructure development. Maria holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Canterbury, completed in 2014.
