Federico Sierra

Federico Sierra has worked in various roles within the maritime industry. Federico started their career in 2013 as an Employee at Towing S.A. In 2014, they worked as a Boarding Agent at Pool Fluvial S.R.L. Federico then joined Antares Naviera S.A. - part of the Ultranav group as a Deck Cadet in 2015, where they completed their training period onboard M/T Cabo Vírgenes. Federico gained experience in Navigation Watch, Mooring & Unmooring operations, STS Operations, Loading & Discharging Operations, and Preventive Maintenance Jobs. From 2017 to 2022, Federico held progressively more senior roles at Antares Naviera S.A., including 3rd Bridge Watchkeeping and Deck Officer, 2nd Bridge Watchkeeping and Deck Officer, and currently as the Chief Officer/Primer Oficial de Cubierta.

Federico Sierra's education history begins with their attendance at St. Matthews College from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained their Bachiller Nacional Bilingüe en ciencias y letras. Federico then went on to pursue further education at the Escuela Nacional de Nautica "Manuel Belgrano" from 2012 to 2016, completing their degree in Bridge Watchkeeping Officer / Lic. in Maritime Transport, with a field of study in Ciencias del mar/Marina mercante.

In addition to their formal education, Federico has obtained several certifications and additional training. Federico achieved the rank of Capitan Fluvial from the Armada Argentina in September 2022. Federico also completed various training courses related to firefighting, first aid, medical care, survival techniques, rescue boats, and ship security officer training, all obtained from the Armada Argentina and the Escuela Nacional de Náutica “Manuel Belgrano” Buenos Aires between 2016 and 2022. Federico received the certification of GMDSS General Operator from the Armada Argentina in February 2020.

Furthermore, Federico has completed specialized training programs in areas such as oil and chemical tanker cargo operations, ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System), dynamic positioning, and specialized oil tanker training, obtained from various institutions including Furuno Maritime Training, TOYO KEIKI Inc., and the Armada Argentina.

Apart from their marine-related certifications, Federico has also obtained certifications in diving, English language proficiency for seafarers, and yacht pilot training.
