Catherine Alviar

Catherine Alviar is an experienced process engineer currently serving as Process Engineer III in Downstream Process Development at Antheia, Inc. since November 2022. Prior to this role, Catherine held positions at Demetrix from June 2018 to September 2022, including Senior Process Engineer and Fermentation Engineer. Catherine's career began at Bolt Threads, where responsibilities included Process Development Associate and Laboratory Technician in fermentation from October 2014 to June 2018. Earlier in Catherine's career, experience included roles as Shift Supervisor at Starbucks from June 2006 to December 2015 and at KFC Corporation from July 2004 to August 2006. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from San Francisco State University and has additional educational experience at the University of California, Berkeley.
