Tzu-Chieh (Zijay) Tang is a Co-Founder and CTO at Anthology, a position held since August 2023. Currently, Tzu-Chieh serves as a Research Fellow at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, collaborating with Dr. George Church since October 2021. Tang's venture into venture capital began as a VC Fellow at E14 Fund from August 2021 to May 2024. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Associate role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with the RLE Synthetic Biology Group under Dr. Timothy Lu from April to September 2021, and serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at MIT from September 2014 to January 2021 across the RLE Synthetic Biology Group and the Media Lab Mediated Matter Group. Earlier roles included research at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in the Laboratory for Energy and NanoScience and as a Research Assistant at Academia Sinica. Tzu-Chieh holds a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from MIT, a Master's in Materials Science and Engineering from Masdar Institute, and a Bachelor's in Life Science from National Taiwan University.
