Virgil Zetterlind is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in technology and conservation. Currently serving as Director at ProtectedSeas since May 2016, Virgil manages a multidisciplinary team focused on promoting ocean, coastal, and inland conservation. As Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Conserve.IO since January 2012, Virgil assists conservation groups in leveraging technology to save endangered species. In addition, Virgil has served as Software Systems Engineer at Anthropocene Institute since October 2015, specializing in marine conservation software. Prior experience includes founding and serving as Chief Technology Officer at EarthNC Inc and working as an Information Systems Engineer at MITRE Corp, as well as Video Exploitation Engineer with the United States Air Force. Virgil holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
