Carlos Prades K.

Carlos Prades K. currently serves as Head of Mining Intelligence and Data Science Expert at Grupo Antofagasta Minerals, focusing on the application of analytics and machine learning in the mining sector since December 2017. Prior to this, Carlos held the position of Research Assistant at the Centre for Computational Geostatistics at the University of Alberta from September 2015 to September 2017, where research concentrated on enhancing the use of machine learning and multivariate techniques in mining. Carlos has also worked as a Geostatistician for Antofagasta Minerals and as a Mine Geologist and Exploration Geologist for BHP, where experiences included 3D modeling, resource estimation, and brownfield exploration. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Alberta, a Citation Program in Applied Geostatistics from the University of Alberta, and a Geology degree from Universidad de Chile.
