Justin Briggs has a diverse work experience. From 2007 to 2017, they held various positions as a Research Assistant at MBio Diagnostics, Inc., Berkeley Lab, NCAR - The National Center for Atmospheric Research, and Berkeley Space Sciences. In 2010, they were an Independent Contractor for NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. From 2011 to 2018, they were a PhD Candidate in Applied Physics at Stanford University, where they fabricated and characterized refractory selective emitters for thermophotovoltaic energy conversion, built high-temperature, low-pressure thermo-optical characterization setup for studying novel energy harvesting materials, and modeled and optimized efficiency of spectral upconversion-enhanced photovoltaic systems. In 2017, they co-founded Antora Energy and held the roles of Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Co-founder and Chief Science Officer, and Co-founder and CTO. In 2018, they were an Activate Fellow at Activate.
Justin Briggs received their Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2010, with an Applied Mathematics minor. Justin then pursued a PhD in Applied Physics from Stanford University, focusing on Renewable Energy and Materials Science, which they completed in 2017.
