Chris Dolman

Research Affiliate - HMI Program

Chris Dolman serves as the Data and AI Risk and Ethics Principal at Telstra, where responsibilities include enhancing AI governance and refining policies, particularly regarding generative AI. Concurrently, Chris holds an honorary fellowship at the Gradient Institute, collaborating on responsible AI, and works as a Research Affiliate with the Australian National University’s Human-Machine Interaction program. Previously, Chris was the Executive Manager of Data and Algorithmic Ethics at IAG, pioneering standards in data-driven decision-making and engaging in research on AI ethics. Chris has also held various leadership roles at IAG focused on data science and analytics, portfolio management, and reserving processes. Additionally, Chris served as a Non-Executive Director at Insurance Statistics Australia and worked as an Actuarial Consultant at EMB Consultancy LLP. Academic qualifications include an FIAA and CERA from the Actuaries Institute and a Master of Mathematics (Hons) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Warwick.
