Martin Berka

Martin Berka is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of economics, currently serving as Professor and Dean (Academic) at Griffith Business School since May 2024. Prior to this role, Martin held various positions at Massey University, including Professor of Macroeconomics and Head of the School of Economics and Finance. Martin's expertise is further demonstrated through fellowships and directorships at prominent institutions such as the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research and the New Zealand Centre for Macroeconomics. Additionally, Martin contributes to academic literature as Associate Editor for New Zealand Economic Papers and was previously Associate Editor for the Journal of Economic Surveys. Martin's educational background includes a PhD in Economics from The University of British Columbia, complemented by master's degrees from Central European University and Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave, as well as a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Management at Comenius University in Bratislava.
