Shirley Leitch is a distinguished academic leader with extensive experience in higher education. Currently serving as a Professorial Fellow and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at The Australian National University since January 2014, Shirley also held the position of Dean of the College of Business & Economics. Prior to this, an impressive tenure at Swinburne University of Technology from January 2010 to December 2013 included the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Professor in the Institute of Social Research, focusing on enhancing the student experience. Additional leadership roles include Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Wollongong and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Public Affairs at the University of Waikato. Shirley's academic journey began with an early position as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Auckland and included significant contributions to the establishment of the Ministry of Women's Affairs in New Zealand.
