Sophie Yates

Sophie Yates currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at The Australian National University and as an Associate Editor for The Australian Journal of Social Issues, both roles started in April 2023. Previous experience includes positions as a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Fellow at UNSW Canberra from January 2019 to April 2023, and as a Social Media Editor for the Australian Journal of Public Administration from November 2017 to July 2022. Additional roles include a Research Fellow and Faculty Coordinator at The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) from August 2007 to November 2018, along with serving as a Postgraduate Representative for the Australian Political Studies Association in 2016-2017. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science and Government from UNSW (2015-2019), a Master of Applied Linguistics from the University of Melbourne (2008-2011), and a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Linguistics/Music from the University of Melbourne (2001-2006).
