Uday Desai

Uday Desai currently serves as Vice President of the Indian National Academy of Engineering since January 2023 and holds the position of Chancellor at The ICFAI University in Dehradun and Anurag University, both since April 2021 and June 2020 respectively. Uday Desai has been an Honorary Distinguished Professor at Plaksha since June 2021 and has the title of Prof. Emeritus and Founding Director at IIT Hyderabad since July 2019. Previous roles include Strategic Consultant for the Telecom Standards Development Society of India until July 2023, Honorary Professor at Woosong University until August 2021, and Head of Operations at the Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship at IITH. Uday Desai directed IIT Hyderabad from June 2009 to June 2019, specializing in wireless communication, wireless sensor networks, signal and image processing, and tele-health. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
