Dawn M. Gross MD, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of palliative care and end-of-life medicine. Dawn M. started their career in 2007 at VITAS Innovative Hospice, where they served as a Team Physician and provided direct care to terminally ill patients. Dawn M. also performed academic medical center education for medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals.

From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Gross served as a Clinical Professor and held the Arthur M. Coppola Family Chair in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope. Their role focused on clinical healthcare and academia.

In 2015, they joined KALW Radio as the host of the radio show "Dying to Talk," where they explored the topic of death and discussed the impact of the "End of Life Option Act" on medical care choices.

Dawn M. Gross MD, PhD obtained a BA Cum Laude with Honors in Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Southern California in the years 1985 to 1989. Dawn M. later pursued a Fellowship in Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant at Stanford University from 2003 to 2006. Dawn also earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology from Tufts University School of Medicine, completing their studies between 1992 and 2000. Dawn M. furthered their education by obtaining additional certifications, including Diplomat in Palliative and Hospice Medicine from the American Board of Medical Specialists in December 2010, Diplomat in Hematology in December 2007, and Internal Medicine in December 2005 from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
