Cuong Nguyen

Cuong Nguyen has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Cuong is currently working as a Staff Software Engineer at Anyscale since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Meta for several years, where they held various roles such as Software Engineer, Tech Lead, and Engineering Manager. During their time at Meta, Cuong focused on building the Continuous Delivery system, reducing release cycles, and improving automation and tooling for web, mobile, and backend services. Cuong also scaled the release infrastructure and worked on CI systems, testing infrastructure, and developer experience.

Before joining Meta, Cuong worked as a Research Intern at Fujitsu in 2014, where they developed an algorithm to reduce the size of auto-generated test programs. Cuong also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley from 2012 to 2014, focusing on software testing and symbolic execution.

Cuong's work experience also includes being a Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore, where they studied data mining of software specifications and developed a tool for tracing function call footprints and mining correctness patterns. Cuong also served as an Undergraduate Discussion Leader, teaching Java programming and problem solving algorithms.

Cuong's earliest work experience was as a Software Developer at Computing for Voluntary Welfare Organisations, where they developed a web-based HR management system.

Cuong Nguyen completed their Bachelor of Computing degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, attending from 2006 to 2010. Cuong then pursued further education at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2012 to 2015, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science.
