Shannon Marshall has a diverse range of work experience in the food industry, beginning in 1995 with Marshall Brothers Ltd, where they worked as a Consultant until 2013. In 2005, they worked at IBC Japan as a Motor Vehicle Buyer until 2007. From 2009 to 2017, Shannon served as a Sales Manager and Meat Trader at Musgrave Meat Holdings, handling domestic procurement and sales as well as exporting various meat products internationally. In 2013, they started their own business, Marshall International, as the Business Owner. In 2017, Shannon joined ANZCO Foods as a Sales Executive, later progressing to various leadership positions such as NZ Sales Manager, Interim General Manager Oceania, Head of Ingredients, and Head of Sales Oceania. Currently, Shannon holds the role of Trading Manager North America and is slated to become the Head of Sales North America at ANZCO Foods in May 2023. Additionally, since 2020, Shannon has served as a board member and later became the Board Chair and Vice President at Retail Meat New Zealand.
Shannon Marshall's education history is as follows:
From 1993 to 1997, Shannon attended Shirley Boys High School, where they obtained a School Certificate (6 Subjects), 6 Form Certificate (6 Subjects), and Bursary (Now NCEA Levels 1, 2, 3).
In 1997, Shannon participated in an exchange program and studied Japanese Language/Culture Studies at Toho High School.
From 1999 to 2010, Shannon pursued a Bachelor of Language at CPIT (Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology), specializing in Japanese.
In 2019, Shannon completed a Bachelor of Applied Management at Ara Institute of Canterbury, focusing on Supply Chain and Logistics, Marketing & Sales.
In 2021, Shannon attended the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and obtained a Company Directors' Certificate.
In 2022, Shannon completed the IoD Company Directors' Course & Chartered Member Assessment at the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, achieving the Chartered Member (CMInstD) designation.
Additionally, Shannon has obtained several certifications, including Chartered Member from the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, Building Effective Teams from NZIML - New Zealand Institute of Management and Leadership, XERO Certified Advisor from Xero, and Advantage™ Approved Supplier Programme from AsureQuality. Shannon also holds a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification from the New Zealand Customs Service and a Sales Negotiations certification from Scotwork.
