Cathryn Paine is the current Principal of People at Anzu Partners. Cathryn has over 10 years of experience in operations and management, with a focus on recruitment and people operations.

Paine started their career as an Operations Manager at The George Washington University, where they oversaw the daily operations of the university. Cathryn then moved on to FrontlineSMS, a start-up that builds software for communities in need, as their Operations Manager. In this role, they were responsible for the company's finances, HR, and compliance.

In 2014, Paine joined Mapbox as their Head of Recruiting. During their time at Mapbox, they quadrupled the size of the company through their A and B funding rounds. Cathryn also partnered with the COO and General Counsel on People Operations, building and executing processes around Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management, Compliance, Onboarding, and Finance.

In 2018, Paine joined MultiMechanics as a Board Observer. MultiMechanics builds software that enables material modeling and simulation to help companies accelerate the product development life cycle by virtually predicting failure in advanced materials. The company was acquired by Siemens in November 2019.

Paine is currently the Principal of People at Anzu Partners.

Cathryn Paine has a Masters in Media & Public Affairs and a Bachelors in Political Communication, both from The George Washington University.
