Christy Spotts has a diverse and extensive work experience. Christy began their career as a Research Assistant at Indiana University Medical School from 2000 to 2004. Christy then joined Terumo BCT, where they held various roles including Research Scientist from 2005 to 2010, and later as a Global Marketing Product Manager from 2010 to 2013. Christy then served as a Program Manager of Corporate Marketing and Communications at Terumo BCT from 2013 to 2014. After that, they worked at Baxter International Inc. as a Senior Marketing Manager from 2014 to 2016, where they played a significant role in marketing strategy, product management, commercialization activities, and customer education. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director of Product Marketing and Digital Strategy at AORN since 2016.

Christy Spotts has a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Indiana. Christy also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Colorado Denver. In addition, Christy has obtained a Project Management Certificate from Duke University and a Certificate in Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley.

AORN is a non-profit membership association based in Denver, Colorado that represents the interests of more than 160,000 perioperative nurses by providing nursing education, standards, and clinical practice resources—including the peer-reviewed, monthly publication AORN Journal—to enable optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. AORN’s 42,000 registered nurse members manage, teach, and practice perioperative nursing, are enrolled in nursing education, or are engaged in perioperative research. We define and advance best nursing practices for surgical patients by researching and distributing scientifically based recommendations.
