Doug Le Fort

Douglas W.F. Le Fort is a seasoned veteran in the medical and life science industry, with over 20 years of senior executive leadership, as well as prior experience in consumer product industries.

Throughout his career, Douglas has served a number of executive leadership roles across SME, FTSE 250, and Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, he served as CEO and Board member for Medtrade Products Ltd, a UK-based technology SME specializing in wound care and emergency and surgical hemostats.

Prior to Medtrade, Douglas served 5 years on the Executive Committee at ConvaTec Group plc, where he was responsible for the company’s $5.3 billion 2016 IPO process – the largest medtech IPO on the London exchange to date.

At ConvaTec, Douglas served in various senior executive roles, including Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, which included M&A strategy for the Group. He was Vice President and General Manager of the Ostomy Division, with full P&L responsibility, defining and executing the initial turnaround of the business, as well as launching the Me+ digital platform for patient engagement. He also served as Vice President of Commercial Operation within the European Region, ensuring the successful commercial launch of Aquacel Foam across European markets.

Prior to ConvaTec, Douglas served as CEO for Freehand Surgical, an innovative start-up in the field of robotic laparoscopic surgery. Before moving into general management, he served as CFO for Abbott Diabetes Care International, a division of Abbott Laboratories, and CFO for Chiron Biopharmaceuticals, where he was directly responsible for Chiron’s integration into Novartis following the company’s acquisition in 2006.
