Selvaraj K has over 27 years of work experience in the legal field. Selvaraj has held various positions in different companies, starting as a Junior Advocate to Govt Pleader cum Public Prosecutor in the Government of Tamilnadu. Selvaraj then worked at Canara Bank as a Law Officer, handling legal assignments for retail and corporate banking. Selvaraj was involved in developing processes for the SARFESI Act and Information Technology Act.

After that, Selvaraj joined ING VysyaBank Limited as an Assistant Vice President - Legal & Founding Team Member, where they played a key role in setting up the corporate legal and compliance department. Selvaraj streamlined systems and processes in line with ING's global standards.

From there, they moved to Ing Vysya Bank (now Kotak Mahindra Bank) as an Associate Vice President - Legal, where they managed both retail and corporate legal matters, such as ISDA agreements, securitization, and litigation management.

Selvaraj then joined IDFC Limited, where they served as a Principal - Legal, handling project finance and equity transactions in sectors like airports, power, telecommunications, and more. Selvaraj also worked on various acquisition deals. Selvaraj later became the Director - Legal at IDFC Limited, where they handled legal assignments for IDFC Ltd and its group companies, including project financing, equity investment, debt syndication, and more. Selvaraj played a crucial role in IDFC's transition from an NBFC to a bank.

After that, Selvaraj joined IDFC Bank as a Senior Director & Commercial & Wholesale Banking Legal Head, where they managed the legal aspects related to commercial and wholesale banking. Currently, they serve as the Group General Counsel & Head Compliance at APAC Financial Services Private Limited, a start-up NBFC, where they were instrumental in setting up the legal, compliance, secretarial, branch network management, and internal audit functions.

Throughout their career, Selvaraj has handled high-value transactions and has expertise in various sectors, including airports, power, transport, telecom, real estate, and more. Selvaraj has extensive experience in drafting financing documents, project due diligence reports, and legal opinions.

Selvaraj K holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Bharathiar University. Selvaraj also obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Law from the same university. In 2005, Selvaraj attended the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore where they completed the EGMP program in General Management. Additionally, they pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights with a specialization in Intellectual Property Law at the National Law School of India University.
