Don Barkwell

Don Barkwell is a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience in financial reporting and technical accounting. Currently serving as Senior Manager-Accounting Policy and Controls at Apache Corporation since June 2019, Don oversees a team responsible for maintaining SOX 404 controls and implementing new accounting rules, including emissions reporting processes and Dodd Frank 1504 Reporting. Previously, Don held the position of Senior Manager Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Advisor, managing financial reporting issues and regulatory filings for Altus Midstream Company. Prior experience includes a Senior Manager role at EY, Board Treasurer for the MS Society Alberta and Northwest Territories, and Director of Corporate & Financial Reporting at the Alberta Energy Regulator. Don's educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Calgary.
