Dimitar Vlassarev

Dimitar Vlassarev has a strong background in data science and leadership roles. Dimitar'smost recent position was as the Senior Director of Data Science at Apartment List, where they delivered $9 million in annual revenue through machine learning models and implemented a complete overhaul of apartment ranking. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Science Manager at Facebook, where they conducted ideal graph analysis and analyzed product-market fit. Before that, they held various roles at Comcast, including Director of Enterprise Data Science and Senior Manager - Data Science, where they set strategic directions and developed ML-derived metrics. Dimitar also worked at Panasonic Automotive as Lead Data Scientist, ViaSat Inc. as a Senior Data Scientist, and Seagate Technology as an Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer. Additionally, they gained teaching experience at Harvard University as a Lab Teaching Fellow and conducted research as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the College of William and Mary.

Dimitar Vlassarev obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics and Mathematics from William & Mary between the years 2001 and 2005. Dimitar then pursued further education at Harvard University, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics from 2005 to 2012. In addition to their academic achievements, Dimitar Vlassarev has also obtained certifications in Amazon Web Services (AWS), including the Amazon Web Services Big Data Specialty in May 2019 and the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate in December 2018.
