Jose Leitao has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and countries. Jose started their career with APCER in 2006 and held the positions of CEO and Managing Director. In 2011, they joined APCER Brasil as Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and later became Chairman of the Board of Directors. Leitao also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for APCER (Shenzhen) Ltd., APCER (Macao) Limited, and APCER España. Jose was a Member of the General Assembly Steering Body for CERTIF. Leitao was also involved in various leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board of Directors for Enercer Global, S.A., Paredes Industrial, S.A., GestinViana, S.A., and TirsosParques, S.A.
Jose Leitao's education history begins in 1979 when they enrolled at the Instituto Superior Técnico to pursue a Licentiate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jose completed this program in 1984. Following this, they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, which they completed from 1987 to 1989.
In 1990, Jose Leitao attended Nova School of Business and Economics, where they completed a General Management Course in Business Administration and Management in 1991.
From 1992 to 1994, Jose Leitao studied at EU Business School, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
Jose Leitao further expanded their education in the field of business by attending various programs in different institutions. In 2011, they participated in the Global Strategic Innovation Program offered by LBC in the USA.
In 2018, Jose Leitao returned to Nova School of Business and Economics, where they pursued a Business Administration and Management program with a focus on Change Management, Negotiation, and Leadership. Jose completed this program in 2019.
In 2020, Jose Leitao continued their professional development by attending several programs. Jose enrolled in the Corporate Governance: Boards Leadership program at Nova School of Business and Economics. Jose also enrolled in the Successful Strategies in Disruptive Times program at INSEAD and the Making Corporate Boards More Effective program at Harvard Business School.
More recently, in 2021, Jose Leitao pursued further education at INSEAD and Harvard Business School. Jose participated in the Leading Across Borders and Cultures program at INSEAD and the Leading Professional Service Firms program at Harvard Business School.
