Shady El Gohary

Shady El Gohary has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Shady started their career in 2007 as an Arabic Editor for the online news website Youm7. Shady then worked as an Editor for Sada ElBalad in 2008. In 2011, they joined Etisalat as a Corporate Communication Executive. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as a Senior Arabic Reporter for Dar AlKhaleej Press, where they were responsible for rewriting and editing copy, and allocating print space for stories.

In 2016, Shady joined APCO Worldwide and held several positions. Shady started as a Senior Account Manager, managing PR aspects for government accounts and assisting in developing strategic plans. Shady then became an Associate Account Director in 2018. In 2019, they were promoted to the role of Account Director, leading a team of 45 employees and managing key accounts such as the Ministry of Tourism Egypt and the Ministry of International Cooperation. As of June 2022, Shady is the Head of Public Affairs at APCO Worldwide.

Shady El Gohary completed their Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies at October 6 University from 2004 to 2008. Shady then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a focus on Communication and Media Studies from The American University in Cairo, studying from 2008 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Shady also holds several certifications including a Certificate of Appreciation from Dubai South obtained in December 2016, an Arab Journalism Award from the Government of Dubai Media Office obtained in March 2016, and the Editor of the Year award from Sharjah Media Centre obtained in February 2014.
