Oren Lederman

Oren Lederman has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering, data science, and system analysis. In 2000, they started their career as a Data Engineer and System Administrator/Developer for Unit 8200 - Israeli Intelligence Corps. In 2004, they worked as an Expert Developer and System Analyst for Gilon Business Insight. In 2007, they co-founded MixSync. From 2008 to 2019, they worked as a Lead Data Engineer for Pursway, a startup company where they led the development of data pipelines and the migration to open source tools. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Doctoral Candidate and Data Scientist at the MIT Media Lab, where they designed and manufactured 500+ units, developed a back-end system and an analysis framework, conducted field experiments, and analyzed data. The project received a $268,000 Kauffman Foundation grant and resulted in 2 PhD and 4 Master's theses. From 2014 to 2019, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer - Cloud and Data for Shield AI. Oren is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Apella Technology.

Oren Lederman's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) between 2015 and 2019, a Master's Degree in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT between 2013 and 2015, and a BSc in Computer Science & Economics from Tel Aviv University between 2004 and 2007. Oren also holds three certifications from CoRise: Data Centric Deep Learning (obtained in December 2022), Deep Learning Essentials (obtained in November 2022), and Data Engineering with Dagster (obtained in September 2022).
